Corporate responsibility towards duty of care
SECRET GARDEN Nursery provides a clean and safe environment for all children. Moreover, a risk assessment is carried out in order to ensure the safety of children, members of staff, parents, and visitors.
SECRET GARDEN Nursery ensures corporate responsibility is applied towards a duty of care for those we work with as well all other stakeholders that receive a service from a provision.
The standard health and safety procedures are applied in all areas of the setting. The risk assessment ensures the specific requirements are met at all times. On outings, however, additional risk assessment, permission slips, and pro-forma must be used when planning any off site activity.
Our setting encourages the children to eat well and learn about food, setting foundations for their future health and wellbeing. All members of staff are aware of and respect all allergies, medical, and cultural differences in eating habits.
Throughout meal times children are encouraged to self serve and make healthy choices. Fresh drinking water is available at all times.
We are a healthy nursery! Our children receive free milk from Government scheme but we ask that parents regularly provide healthy snacks; these might be bread sticks, rice cakes or more fruits such as apples, oranges, etc.
Our members of staff ensure that great care is taken to present meals where the food is cut into small pieces (i.e. cutting grapes or cherry tomatoes in half) enabling your child to eat enjoyably and safely. Furthermore, we liaise with parents on a regular basis with regards to any changes.
We observe a strict approach to managing and controlling allergens. Also, we are a NUT FREE setting.
